Arturo Mejia is a conceptual artist whose work explores how ideas take shape in the mind, capturing moments in thought between nothingness to that clear idea in the imagination. Through sculpture, painting, collage, projection mapping and sound, he creates physical adaptations that use both artificial and natural light to illustrate how ideas are always in motion. His work invites viewers to consider how light, sound, language and other elements come together to create an idea, and how it changes over time. These pieces act as a blueprint for understanding how ideas evolve in the imagination, inviting viewers to introspect and analyze their own creative processes.
Mejia earned an MFA in Studio Arts from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. He now lives and works as an artist in East Los Angeles.
